16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence
Organizations globally are marking 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. This starts with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (November 25) and ends with International Human Rights Day (December 10).
In Canada, on December 6, we remember the 14 women killed at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal in 1989 and all those who have experienced gender-based violence during the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women and Girls.
We invite you to take time in prayer and reflection in these 16 days on the ways we can foster safety, dignity, and well-being for women, girls, and gender diverse people in our communities.
#KAIROS16DaysofActivism
In a series of shareable daily reflection posts from women peacebuilders, land defenders, Indigenous and migrant women, gender-diverse people, and male allies, KAIROS highlights the acts of activism—small and large—that sparked transformation this year. These everyday and collective actions that challenged injustice, reclaimed voice, and advanced gender justice and peace are stories of courage, healing, leadership, and community-driven change. We invite you to visit their campaign page and listen to the stories yourself: https://kairoscanada.org/16-days-2025
